FAQS

What makes Dorothy different from other counsellors or coaches?

Dorothy does not simply validate feelings and leave you there. She works with both compassion and accountability. She feels with you, but she does not drown with you. With over 35 years of clinical experience and an MBA-informed, results-oriented mindset, she knows when to support, when to challenge, and when to help you move.

For workshops, yes, although Dorothy strongly believes face-to-face participation is far more effective. For one-to-one counselling, in-person work is preferred because deep therapeutic work depends on presence, eye contact, and being in the room. For overseas clients, online may be considered as the best available option.

There is no completely typical session, because every person brings a different story and different patterns. In general, Dorothy begins with what is most present and alive right now. Together, you identify the pattern that is keeping you stuck, explore new ways of thinking and responding, and leave with something practical to work on, not just something to reflect on.

That depends on your goals, your history, and your readiness for change. Dorothy usually asks for a minimum commitment of 6 to 8 sessions because meaningful change takes time. Some people work with her for a few months, some for longer, and some return from time to time for further support or maintenance.

Dorothy does not approach counselling as a casual drop-in experience. Her work is based on continuity and commitment. If you want to get a sense of how she works before beginning, you may start with an Assessment Meeting, a public workshop, or a Reel Talk movie screening.

The goal is not to make you dependent on a professional. The goal is to help you build clearer self-understanding, more mature relationship capacity, and a steadier inner life so that you can live with greater honesty and strength.

Counselling Enquiry

Dorothy has sat with couples on the edge of divorce, parents exhausted by their children, individuals trapped in repeating patterns, and professionals trying to function under intense pressure. She does not offer magical answers or performative comfort.

She offers honest conversation, psychological clarity, and a gentle but firm refusal to let people remain where they already know they are stuck.
